Where I was when we first started?

I reached out to Antje when I had made up my mind that I wanted to take the next step in my career. I knew what I was looking for in a coach and Antje's approach matched exactly that. She is honest and kind and has helped me to analyse my own situation without putting words into my mouth.

Where I am now?

With Antje's encouragement I applied for roles way above what I would usually do because I was too fearful of rejection, she helped me reframe and approach these roles in a way that took out personalisation of rejection. Helping me to approach the entire interview process from a new perspective. This led me to only apply for roles that met what I was looking for and led to some amazing, unexpected surprises as my courage was rewarded with great interview experiences in rapid succession.

By the end of our 6 sessions I walked away more confident in my leadership abilities, and with a brand new role on promotion, with a great salary at a new company that fits my values.

What I will carry forward?

One thing I will be carrying forward with me is to always be clear and intentional about what I am looking for in a company and the next role. I have already started sharing this philosophy with people I mentor in my industry. Working with Antje helped me realise that an interview is a chance for a company to audition for you, not just you for them, they need you probably more than you need them and if you do not get the job, it’s probably not about you, it’s about what they needed.

How is my life different now as a result?

My life is different now as a result of the coaching because it helped to solidify my belief in myself and my skills and boosted my confidence greatly where it was no longer a question of ‘if’ I was qualified for a specific role but whether I was going to take the risk to apply for it because I might be exactly what they are looking for. Antje also helped me deal with difficult situations at my old company with a previous boss and take a diplomatic logical approach rather than an emotional one when dealing with conflict.

I rate my experience 5/5.

I came away with everything I wanted including a promotion at a new amazing company and I know that when I’m ready to take another huge step in my career, Antje will be there for me should I need her.

Working with Antje not only got me through a specific professional and personal crisis, but also had me develop new strategies for confronting future challenges.
 
Prior to beginning the coaching sessions, I was stuck in a cycle of hashing over the details of a failed professional project that had left my confidence badly shaken. After the coaching sessions, I am finally back on track with planning and can see myself making progress personally and professionally.

 

Working with Antje not only got me through a specific professional and personal crisis, but also had me develop new strategies for confronting future challenges. From recognizing a problem/crisis/challenge, to isolating its source, to planning a route through it, to evaluating outcomes after, Antje opened me up to a process that was both achievable and effective. I have been fortunate not to experience many serious setbacks or failures in my life, but as a result, I was completely unprepared to cope with them when they arose. This fear was beginning to seriously inhibit me. Now I no longer feel so threatened by the idea of setbacks or failures. Instead, I feel equipped to tackle them.

 

 

The sessions with Antje brought about so many positive changes in my professional and emotional life! If I were to try and sum up her impact on me and my work, I would say there were two major areas that Antje’s coaching produced transformative results. First, she was able to help me pin-point what in my current situation was creating a cycle of stalling in my work. From that, she guided me to create realistic goals for breaking out of the cycle and improving my overall productivity. Second, she was able to help me gently dissect a past professional event that had left my confidence in shreds. There was a lot of emotion and ego wrapped up in it and I was finding it impossible to move forward. Separating out positive elements and lessons learned from the negative emotional baggage, brought closure that I hadn’t been able to reach on my own. Antje’s coaching put this event back into perspective, and ultimately created a route to move past it.

 

I would rate the experience of working with Antje as a 5+.

I have never had professional coaching before and had always thought of myself as too self-sufficient to need it. It’s likely I was always a little nervous that working with a coach would suggest dependency or weakness of some sort. Instead I found that Antje had a way of building up my confidence, hearing me and guiding me to a place where I am now better equipped than before to tackle challenges…while also no longer being threatened by the idea of asking for help.

I especially appreciated how responsive she was, zeroing in on strategies that worked for me and which ones didn’t, tailoring sessions to meet me where I was on a given day.

I’m really not sure what could have been done better. She has started me on a journey, and I hope to continue touching base for her from time to time to get her insight and ideas.

It is impossible to state how radical a change this has made to my outlook and future planning.
